Statistical Sampling, Classification and Prioritisation of Network Flow Data

As the coverage and speed of new and emerging network technologies improve the problem of classifying and prioritising network flow data gets more difficult. The aim of this project is to research and develop a generic framework that can accurately classify live network flow data in close to real-time using a combination of network flow analysis and statistical packet inspection. This has many potential applications in both high speed network management and expediting priority traffic in a network e.g. biomedical data, VOIP and critical telemetry.
